Lisa & Perry One Year Later

When I filmed Lisa & Perry's wedding in Mexico I was left with a hangover. Not (only) from the relentless shots we did that night, but from the feeling that I would not get to spend another week with these personable and wonderful humans again. I made a promise to myself that I would keep in touch. I'm glad I did. One calendar year later I was shooting a wedding at the same resort Azul FIves. I sent a text to Lisa to thank her for the review she left on the Azul-Brides Facebook page. She texted back with exciting news. They were going back for their anniversary! Needless to say, we spent a few days around the pool-bar... and we were able to sneak in a photoshoot to commemorate their paper anniversary.

Icelandic Wedding Between The Tectonic Plates

Jenn & Dave are a unique couple. Every week the three of us get together and sweat together in their backyard wood burning sauna (more about this project). When they told me that they planned on having their wedding between the Eurasian and American tectonic plates, my first thought was: "Of course." Dave and Jenn first visited Iceland a few years prior. It was only natural that they would be drawn back to it's unique terrain and quirky European charm.

The national park Þingvellir (also a UNESCO World Heritage site) was established to preserve the unique landscape that features the Tectonic plates of Europe and America. They appear to be erupting from the Earth. It is other worldly to stand between them.

But I digress... There is a popular saying in Iceland: "if you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes... It will change." For the ceremony of Jenn & Dave we were lucky, only after we wrapped the photo session and jumped onto the tour bus did it start to pour.

Enough words. I love them, I loved being apart of their day. I love these photos.

Lisa & Perry Azul Fives

My first and most memorable destination wedding. Lisa and Perry (and several in their group) have since become very good friends. I second-shot photo and produced their wedding film all at Azul Fives. This is the trip that changed my mind on tequila. I now enjoy a tequila sunrise, it is my go-to for destination weddings/trips down south.

(below the video are some photos from an impromptu photo session we did the morning of their wedding.)
