Lindsay & Taylor Mexico 2.0

December 5th 2017 will forever be one of my favourite days. It was the day two of my best friends married each other. I was both a groomsman as well as sole videographer. Somehow I was able to participate in my groomsman-duties, capture a full wedding day, enjoy the small important moments, and get wildly inebriated. See video below

As with most adventures these two embark on, there is often a follow up or ripple effect. So 30 or so of us (about half of the original guests list) returned to the same resort for a week. We woke up at 7:00am on the final day to take some photos. If you were wondering… yes, we are planning for Mexico 3.0, however it will probably not be in Mexico.

Lisa & Perry One Year Later

When I filmed Lisa & Perry's wedding in Mexico I was left with a hangover. Not (only) from the relentless shots we did that night, but from the feeling that I would not get to spend another week with these personable and wonderful humans again. I made a promise to myself that I would keep in touch. I'm glad I did. One calendar year later I was shooting a wedding at the same resort Azul FIves. I sent a text to Lisa to thank her for the review she left on the Azul-Brides Facebook page. She texted back with exciting news. They were going back for their anniversary! Needless to say, we spent a few days around the pool-bar... and we were able to sneak in a photoshoot to commemorate their paper anniversary.

Filming Two Photographers' Wedding in Mexico.

When Lindsay and Taylor asked me to film their Mexico wedding I was immediately filled with equals parts fear and excitement. Two of my favourite photographers trusted me to capture their day. I would spend the next two years testing different techniques and refining my approach to wedding videography in preparation for their date. Also, I was asked to be a groomsman, so I did that too. Needless to say, I had one of the most fun days of my career as a creative person.

Capturing the wedding of two people I love and respect, Is there anything better? I submit that there is not.
